Delhi Going for Assembly Elections!

Within a gap of around one year Delhi is again going to vote for its assembly elections. Last time it was the bulge of a new political party which surprised many, what do you think will be the outcome in this elections? Read on this blog post of mine on Delhi going for assembly elections.

In fact around the gap of one year this is the third time when Delhi is going to vote. First in November 2013 when it declared a hung assembly and then in April 2014 for general elections in which Modi led BJP won all the 7 parliamentary constituencies of Delhi.

If you go by then trends you will realize that it is the toughest fight between BJP and Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). I sometimes wonder the bubble with bulge in last year’s assembly elections in the form of AAP will burst or grow in this election?

Delhi Going for Assembly Elections!

Let me tell you the history. As you all know that last year AAP emerged as the real winner of the assembly elections in Delhi. After much drama the drama queen of Indian Politics decided to become the chief minister of Delhi state. Undoubtedly 49 days when Arvind Kejriwal was the chief minister of Delhi was full of dramas. Although I won’t deny that his regime was a nightmare for many state government employees who were involved with malpractices like taking bribe for doing any work.

But the 49 days government actually did not give any good signal to the mass. First AK sit for a Dharna, before republic day parade which gave the wrong signal to its followers and second the day he resigned without asking his supporters gave very negative impact to their impression.

The Biggest Mistake

The ultimate thing which no one will deny is that if Arvind Kejriwal would have stayed there to run the government in Delhi, although it was really difficult to manage with Congress, then the benefit will be of the AAP. BJP which won all the 7 parliamentary constituencies in Delhi would not have gained such benefits unless AK would not have resigned.

It is also true that Arvind Kejriwal also now realize that it was his biggest mistake to resign from the chief ministerial post of Delhi. He clearly claims that a big chunk of his vote bank scattered from him because of his resignation.

Once he resigned on 14th of February 2014, BJP tried in all the ways to form government in Delhi, reason being their huge victory in Loksabha elections 2014. They thought now they can take benefit of the revised scenario in Delhi and can form a minority government in Delhi.

Though BJP denies that they ever tried making minority government in Delhi, but the development was clearly visible on the card. And when they denied making government with no majority, and when AAP saw clearly that Congress is not going to give support to them to form the government once again in Delhi, they too denied making the government and LG (Lieutenant Governor) decided to dissolve the assembly.

Now it is speculated that Delhi will have elections in the last week of January 2015 of at the month of February 2015.

Tough Fight between BJP and AAP!

No matter if none of Congress leaders will deny it, but it is a real fact that during the Loksabha Elections 2014 Congress party was out of scene in Delhi. Undoubtedly the same scenario is still there. When I come out of my home at early morning, the moment I reach office, I encounter with many people. Those include Auto drivers, Battery Rickshaw drivers, some shopkeepers and other office goers and commuters. You will be surprise to know that only around 5% of them comes ahead to support Congress party, or they claim that they will vote to Congress only in coming elections.

Out of the remaining 95% are divided into two parts. One part which is obviously in a majority wants to support BJP. Reason being the popularity of Narendra Modi, our honorable prime minister, whose popularity is increasing day by day and BJP is getting the benefits of it. On the other hand there are a few who want to support AAP again. Only a few are confused who want to either vote to BJP or AAP only.

So Congress or INC is not at all in any scene in Delhi assembly elections.

Today only I met one auto driver, his name was Sanjeev Kumar, who was originally from Bihar and these days resides in somewhere near by Uttam Nagar area. As per Sanjeev, auto drivers in Delhi are divided into two groups. One part is supporting BJP, while other wants to go with AAP. It is also true that majority of them voted to AAP last year.

The reason why AAP lost its mass support is that they all are aware that only honesty is not required to run a state. It is true that Arvind Kejriwal might be too honest, but then he left them in between and went for becoming the prime minister of India, which unfortunately backfired. On the other hand Modi jee is doing all sort of hard work to balance the things.

Majority of auto drivers who were earlier considered as Arvind Kejriwal supporter are now lost faith in him and want to vote for BJP as per Sanjeev.

Conclusion

Politics just like cricket match is totally unpredictable. You never know what will be the output of any elections. But as far as we can see it, BJP is certainly having an upper hand than both the major parties of the state. Obviously Congress is having the less support, but then the benefit which BJP is having that middle class voters are there to support them. A big portion of minority voters are not going to support BJP, but then they are also divided into AAP and Congress, so it will again give the benefits to BJP only.

It is also true that Modi jee will not come to run the state, but yes whoever will be the CM of Delhi, will be guided by him only. But anyways, who will emerge as the winner is stored in future.

What do you think about Delhi state assembly elections? Please share your opinion about which will emerge as the winner from the assembly elections in 2015? I will be glad to hear your opinions on it.
