Is Guest Blogging Dead?

After reading about my first book which is on Guest Blogging only, many of my friends, either personally or through mails, asked me once again; is guest blogging dead?

They all actually are confused with what is going on in the field of guest blogging, and many people are shouting about that it is dead, which is actually confusing them seriously.

Being an SEO many people ask me different questions. One question which I am randomly facing twice or thrice throughout a day, is this one only these days.

Is Guest Blogging Dead? 

Coming back to our original discussion about is guest blogging dead, I would like to respond that yes it is if you considered guest blogging as a simple tool to build links (back links) towards your website. If you were or are the person who wanted to do guest blogging for the purpose of getting a link towards your website, then for you it is obviously dead.

I guess you all are thinking about these questions:

Is guest blogging still a good idea?
Will I still do guest blogging?
Guest blogging is having any worth or not?
What is the future of guest blogging?

Why Ban on Guest Blogging? 

To be very frank, it happened because Google felt that people are using this tool as a cheap medium to build link for their website.

Majorly guest blogging was used by people to help and boost their SEO campaign, which ideally was the motive of guest blogging too, but then utilized in a poor manner.

When we say about guest blogging, it simply does not means that you can have any blog post, but it should have a unique perspective, special information and of good quality as you consider a post for your own blog.

Surprisingly guest blogs lost its charm because of those spam and poor quality blog posts only.

When you are talking about guest blogging, try to prepare the best of your blogs to be feature on some other website, normally people think opposite of it. They try to submit their worst articles as the guest blog, only thing which their poor article will have an anchor text filled link to their website.

What Need to Do? 

Let me tell you all some of the ideas which you can follow in coming days to get the benefits of the guest blogging:

If you Are Doing Guest Blogging: 

I mean if you are an author or blogger and want to publish your blog on some established blog, then you should follow these things:

• Select sites for guest blogging giving proper care and attention. Try not to select the sites which only publishes guest blogs
• Write your best possible content for the purpose of guest blog
• Do the research of your target blog; analyze the types of content they allow on their site, the types of content readers over there enjoys a lot, and how they present the same
• Try to put all your analysis on your content, and try to make it as per the particular blog’s requirement
• Build relationships with the readers of that particular website, as you do for your own website
• Be selective about putting links in your guest blog, try to put authority links in between the posts and your own links at the author bio section only
• Don’t put more than 2-3 links in a guest blog
• Follow up the blog once published, for some comments and do respond to them

If you Are Hosting Guest Blogging 

I simply mean if you have a blog and people asks you randomly for guest blogs then you should follow these things:

• Be selective about the blogs which you publish on your blog
• Look for good quality blogs and it should have some authenticity plus
• Try to make it relevant to your content, for which your readers are use to
• Don’t accept guest blogs just for the sake of some quick money, you can ask money if you are doing the review of some products or services, but not for guest blogs

So basically as I normally say that none of the tools are useless, when it comes about SEO, only thing which is requires is to use them with proper care and way.
