Some Twitter Tips and Tactics for Better ROI!

Are you struggling to utilize the maximum benefits of the much popular micro blogging site Twitter?

To be very frank we all want more and more engagement, followers and sometimes traffic as well from Twitter. We all want to get maximum ROI from whatever investment (either cash or efforts) we made over there.

A few days back I read one of the blog post written by my wife Punam Vats on 5 Twitter Tips and Tricks to Get Maximum Benefits. The moment I read that I thought I can also write something on that topic.

One of the major problems associated with Twitter is that it is too noisy and you can found the expert of all the fields available out there. There is no point in staying silent over there, as then you won’t be able to utilize the full use of this social media platform. You need to shout out so that people can hear you too.

One of the thing which always create huge attention over there is the number of followers. For some it might seems quite valuable to see that millions of people are following you. If you ask me, I would always suggest that instead of having followers in thousands, it is better to have followers in hundreds if some of them are giving value to whatever you are tweeting. I never would prefer a scenario in which thousands of people are following me, but none of them giving a damn to whatever I am tweeting over there.

So, if you too wanted to get maximum results from Twitter, then try to focus on these few tips and tactics:

Complete Profile

I have seen many people ignoring the profile picture, and information about you over twitter. I am not saying to reveal all the facts about you, but at least you must need to display your real picture as a display picture and have some information about you so that people can be able to recognize you.

I too have many a times ignored profiles with no profile pic or no profile information, and I am sure it is quite common over there. So if you don’t want that people will also ignore you, then the first thing which you will do after creating the account at Twitter, is to fill it up with relevant information and your real pics.

Follow Relevant Account

In the beginning not many people will start following you. You will have to start following a few people so that they will came to know about you and if they found your profile interesting then they will definitely follow you.

What I wanted to suggest you all is to follow the relevant people or account only, instead of following accounts on a random basis, you must try to find people relevant to your industry, as I do searched for many people who are a writer, author or blogger. This give me some real boost to get relevant followers.

Real Followers

Connecting to real people is always preferable than to connect with automated accounts or to those guys who use to follow so many things, but never give time to hear what followers are saying.

Believe me that if you will start following real people and start giving responses to their tweets, other people will also recognize you very soon and not only they will start following you but they will also truly give value to what you will tweet.

As I said already that having followers in thousands is useless, if you don’t get a single favorite, or retweet messages, or a single responses. Instead if you have a few followers only, who use to follow all your tweets, like them, or retweet them or give response to the same, this situation is really far better than the previous one.

So instead of running for increased number of twitter followers, try to gain as many real followers as possible. Try to avoid following twitter accounts which normally share automated tweets only.

Do Follow

Those who are a bit aware about SEO, or who follows my blog posts on SEO Tips (at this blog or at other blogs of mine as well), might say that I am saying something about dofollow or nofollow tags, but this point of do follow in case of Twitter is different than all those.

Here I want to say that you must follow the real people who started following you. This will send them the message that you are a real person and they would love to hear whatever you will say over there.

If possible then it is also a good idea to sent thank you message to all your real followers for following, but I am aware that saying thanks to every new follower is a bit difficult and I also don’t suggest to use any automated tool to do so, as this will harm your reputation only. I will suggest you all too at least send a few hello notes to some quite relevant profiles when they do follow you.

Get Visual

Those days are gone when people were thinking that Twitter is only meant for texts only. This is the age of visual presentation of your tweets.

Now a day’s tweeter features visual contents more prominently than texts. It is always better to share your tweet with an interesting picture, as a great picture might help your tweet to become viral or popular.

Thus if you are a blogger and wanted to gain some traffic from Twitter, then use some pictures of your post to share with, in Twitter. It will definitely help drive more clicks on the link.

Short Tweets

As mentioned by my wife I would also suggest that instead of using the 140 characters space fully utilized, try to make your content with around 10 or 20 characters less than the full length.

Also, it is always better to not disclose everything in the tweet only, though with 140 characters limit it is really hard to do so, but make a practice of not giving every detail in the tweet itself about your content.

After all, a reader will never click on your link, if he or she can guess the entire story just from reading your tweet.

Always believe that the more curiosity you can be able to generate with your tweets, it will have higher chances to provide you maximum returns.

Use Hashtags

Hashtags being the most important things these days as far as using Twitter and Facebook is concerned. If you ask me, I can say that tweets with hashtags always have twice chance to get response than the one without any hashtags.

You just need to use hashtags smartly so that it can associate your tweet with the relevant searches.

You can also utilize hashtags at your profile information.

The last but not the least point which I can say with regard to this post is that you can use questions as a major tool to attract the attention of your followers. You can also respond to someone’s tweet, so that he or she can feel good about you and start following you.

Other than all the above points you can also share some nicely written quotes with your followers. Also don’t hesitate in sharing the same link of yours again and again, but do understand that it should not look like you are doing spam. You can choose some influential lines of your post to share with the link again and again, this way the content will not become repetitive, but the link you are sharing are repeated.

Always remember that you won’t become a super user at Twitter overnight, it will take years and lots of efforts to get so many real followers.
