I know you all are excited about the FIFA world cup 2014 which will begin within a few hours. I am also too excited about it, so here is my blog post on group, teams and schedules of FIFA world cup 2014.

Undoubtedly Football world cup is something which brings lots of energy in the world. Although only 32 countries gets the chance to play in the tournament, but it is not like that only those 32 countries were playing it. I guess all the nations of the world participate in this tournament; at least if you see the viewership of this tournament on Television you would realize the same.

As you all know that only a few hours are left for the grand opening of this huge tournament in Brazil. All the 32 teams are preparing themselves in a different-different manner, so that they can be able to hold the trophy.

With the help of this blog post, I am also starting my own preparation for the tournament. As you all know that a few days back I published a blog post of the probable’s which can be able to win this tournament and in this blog post I will let you know about the different groups, their teams and the schedule of each groups of the FIFA world cup 2014.

Who Will Win the 2014 FIFA World Cup?

Who Will Win the 2014 FIFA World Cup?

FIFA World Cup 2014 – Group, Teams & Schedules of World Cup 2014!

Here are the details of the eight groups of this tournament:

 Group A

The first group which includes the hosts of the tournament are consists of 4 nations. Brazil, Croatia, Cameroon, and Mexico are the part of this group. Quite obviously Brazil is the most favorite team of this group.

Undoubtedly Brazil will proceed towards the next round from this group. As far as I know Brazil has not lose a single match in Brazil from last 10-12 years. And in fact from the 3 matches which they will play in this group I don’t think they will have any issue in retaining the same record.

To be very frank I can mark out Cameroon as the second team which can go to the next round from this group. Undoubtedly they are weakest team of the group and hence we can think about either Mexico or Croatia heading towards the next round.

As we all know that recently Mexico struggled badly in to qualify for the world cup, so I would give 60% chances to Croatia to reach to the next round with 40% chances of Mexico going to the next round.

Anyways as this tournament is happening in Brazil so they will have the local support with them, but then they should not fail as a unit at the time of need due to the heavy load of expectations.

 Group B

This is the toughest group of the tournament, and some people are calling it as the group of death.

Undoubtedly three top ranked teams are listed in this group with one not so heavyweight team Australia. Those three teams are Chile, Spain and Netherlands.

Spain being the world champions is into this tournament with lots of expectations and as far as Chile and Netherlands are concerned, it is hard to say which team is superior out of them and whether it is possible if they two can be able to knock out Spain in this group round only?

Hard to say which 2 teams will proceed to the knock out round of the tournament, but I guess Spain and Chile will proceed to the next round from this group.

 Group C

One of the weakest groups of the tournament is the group C. Although none of the teams can be taken as lighter in this tournament, but still the teams like Greece, Ivory Coast and Japan are not that much strong which can even give tough competition to Colombia in this group.

I guess one team which is sure to go to the next round from this group will be Colombia, and if you ask me my second preference from this group will be Ivory Coast.

Let me tell you all that I am participating in a blogging contest which will go along with the FIFA world cup and I am representing Colombia for the first phase of the tournament, although their performance will not impact my chance of reaching to the next round, as I will be allotted some other team in the next round, but then since I am representing them in this contest I wish they will easily go ahead to the next round.

 Group D

This group is having the countries like England, Italy, Costa Rica, and Uruguay. I guess many people are treating Costa Rica as the weakest team of the group and any 2 teams from England, Italy and Uruguay will proceed to the next round, but then if you ask me I can say those 3 teams to stay alert from Costa Rica.

They might be the underdogs of the tournament and can pull off a few upsets.

 Group E

This group consists of France, Ecuador, Switzerland and Honduras.

I guess France and Ecuador will proceed to the next round from this group. France which is a serious contender of winning the tournament will most probably head to the knock out round without having any issue in this group.

 Group F

This group is having the most favorite team of my wife i.e. Argentina, along with Iran, Nigeria and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Anyone can say that Argentina will go ahead from this group, but you never know. If they failed then it will be very unfortunate for them.

I guess Bosnia-Herzegovina is the underdogs of this group and they might upset a few teams in this tournament. But yes I don’t think so that Messi and team will have any issue in going to the next round of the tournament.

 Group G

It consists of the teams like Germany, Portugal, United States and Ghana.

Do you also thinking that this is the toughest group and you can call it as the group of death?

Well, I too thought the same, but I guess it is not. Group B is the real group of death of this tournament.

I am quite hopeful that Germany and Portugal will go ahead to the knock out round from this group.

 Group H

The last group of the tournament is actually the weakest groups of the championship. It includes the teams like Russia, South Africa, Algeria and Belgium.

The real champion of this group is Belgium and I think any one out of Russia and South Africa will have the best chance to go ahead to the knock out round.

Let’s see which teams will play better and go advance.
