Famous Sci-fi writer Arthur C Clarke dead!
Arthur C Clarke, the writer of more than 100 books on science fiction and visionary died at a private hospital in Colombo on Wednesday morning.
The famous British born writer was 90. His official said that he got Jaundice since 1960 and sometimes used wheel chair also. He died in Apollo hospital following problem in breathing at night.
He was the pioneer in suggesting the use of satellite orbiting the earth for communication.
Born in England in 1917, the writer had first come to the island in the 1950s for scuba diving and was so fascinated by it that he became a resident of Sri Lanka and received so many honorary awards for his contributions to science and technology.
“I’ve been living in Sri Lanka for 50 years, and half that time I’ve been a sad witness to a bitter conflict that divides my adopted country, and dearly wish to see a lasting peace established in Sri Lanka as soon as possible,” Clarke had said at his last birthday party.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa has expressed deep sorrow and condolences for the irreparable loss of Clarke’s.
