The 54th National Film awards for the year 2006 have been finally announced today after a lot of controversies. Sanjay Dutt’s ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’ has bagged maximum number of four awards and remain the best film title in the most popular film award category along with the awards in the Best Screenplay, Best Lyrist and Best Supporting Actor.

Lage Raho Munnabhai, the sequel of the ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ 2003, is an instant hit in not only India but also overseas. Released on October 2, birth date of ‘Father of Nation’ it familiarizes the youth of the country with the principles and the morals held by Mahatma Gandhi.

Malayalam film ‘Pulijanmam’ takes away the title for Best Feature Film while Best Hindi Film award was bagged by ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’.

Best Actor award goes to Soumitra Chatterjee (Podokkhep) while Priyamani (Poruthiveeran) is acclaimed Best Actress Award. Jury Award is for Vishal Bharadwaj (Omkara)

Madhur Bhandarkar won the Best Director award for his much acknowledged film ‘Traffic Signal’. It is third award for him after he won the celebrated award for his films ‘Chandni Bar’ and ‘Page 3’.

Bhandarkar said, “The National Award is the only big award for me. It’s an honor and I could not have asked for more,”

Dilip Prabhawalkar who efficiently played the role of ‘Bapu’ in Raj Kumar Hirani’s “Lage Raho Munna Bhai” was acclaimed with the Best Supporting actor for LRMB and a Marathi film Shevri. Konkona Sen Sharma, who gave an unforgettable performance in the film Mr and Mrs Iyer (2002), received the best supporting Actor Award (female) for Omkara.

The Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Direction was awarded jointly to Kabir Khan directed ‘Kabul Express’ and Madhu Kaithapuram directed ‘Ekantham’. Divya Chahardkar was selected as the best Child Artist for the Konkani film Antarnad.

Earlier in 2007, Delhi High Court had restrained the I&B ministry to announce the results of 53rd national awards from the year 2005 after admitting a petition alleging huge corruption in ministry over the selection procedures of awards, which was lifted later.

The controversial marriage issue of Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt with Manyata has finally got permission by the Session court in Mumbai. The Court dismissed Manyata’s former husband Mehraj Shaikh’s petition and said that the Manyata is divorced with his former husband and hence her marriage with Sanjay is legal.

Sanjay Dutt and Manyata had wed in Goa, and then again in Mumbai on February 11 but the marriage soon went soar when Manyata’s ex husband Meraz has claimed that Manyata has married Sanjay without being divorced with him. Hence the marriage is illegal. Bandra court approved this claim and their marriage was stated illegal there after.

Session court’s decision give relief to the couple and Dutt expressed his happiness over the judgment to the media at his home.

There is a dramatic twist in the controversial marriage of Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt and Manyata. Both admitted in the Mumbai court today that their marriage was not authorized and they are not married legally.

They claimed that they have no legal proof for their marriage. The allegation laid by Manyata’s first husband Meraj Rehman who is under trial said in his petition that he is Manyata’s husband and the couple are not yet divorced. He claimed Manyata’s marriage with Sanjay is illegal.

Challenging the order of issuance against them, Sanjay and Manyata stated in their application on April 7 that their marriage in Goa is a nullity. The couple claimed that there is no final decision can be reached in lack of any legal proof.

Earlier, Dutt and Manyata were granted a reprieve till April 23 when the Mumbai Sessions Court stayed the proceedings against them by the Bandra court.

Additional Sessions Judge S.N. Sardesai admitted a revision application filed by Manyata and exempted the couple from appearing before the Bandra court April 15.

The two got married on February 7 in the court of Goa. But soon there marriage went sour when legal questions were thrown on the validity of the marriage. Manyata’s first husband claims and residential certificate validity issue of Manyata put the wedding under controversies.

As everybody knows that the Bollywood super star Sanjay Dutt’s marriage with Manyata went soar when legal questions were raised for their legality of marriage. Case was filed against their marriage by Manyata’s former husband Meraj Rehman.

The couple will appear in Mumbai court with all important documents, to prove the legality of their marriage.

The two got married on February 11 as per Hindu rites in Goa but Manyata’s former husband Meraj Rehman claimed that she is still her wife and their marriage is illegal.Meraj claimed that Manyata is not divorced by him yet. Hence her second marriage to Sanjay Dutt is not valid.

Also Manyata is questioned for validity of her residential certificate of Goa which is needed for the marriage. Goa marriage registrar’s office sent a notice to Manyata for reportedly submitting a fake residential certificate at the time of marriage.

Replying to the notice, Dutt and Manyata filed an application to the Goa marriage registrar seeking to cancel their marriage, which was accepted by the registrar.

Sanjay Datt is going to play the lead role of Big B in the remake version of ‘Satte pe Satta’ named ‘Seven’. The same director Raj Sippy, is going to direct the old version. He had announced to place Sanjay Datt in the lead role.

Rani Mukherjee will play the role of Hema Malini while Vidya Balan is signed for Ranjeeta’s role.

A little change is made to the script. The super hit movie ‘Sattey pe Satta’ had seven brothers and inspired by an English movie, ‘Seven Brides for Seven Brothers’. The remake ‘Seven’ will have four brothers and three sisters.

He said that Sanjay Dutt is best suited for the role and people would really admire his performance.

‘Sattey pe Satta’ was a big hit and Raj expects the same bang on box office through his forthcoming remake movie ‘Seven’.

Sanjay, Manyata withdraw their marriage declaration through a joint declaration on Wednesday.

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt married Manyata on 7th February in a hotel of Goa before the South Goa Sub Registrar. But the marriage generated a lot of controversies with it and many troubles for the couple. A legal notice is also sent to Manyata on investigation of the residence certificate proof of her in Goa and asking for her explanation.

After these controversies, the marriage was put on hold and was under investigation. But now the couple had paid for the procedural lapses by withdrawing the marriage declaration.

Sanjay dutt and Manayata’s wedding is still in trouble for the legality of her Residence Certificate. A stay order was issued on 7th of this month and their wedding was temporarily brought to a stand still.

Manyata was blamed by Revenue Officials for providing a fraud residence certificate and hence a notice was issued against her asking to explain why her residence proof should not be cancelled? Hearing of this case will be on 7th March.

Manyata had stated that she has been staying at Aquem, a sub urban locality adjacent to South Goa’s Margao town.

It is known that purtagallies rules are followed in Goa and there are same old rules regarding any wedding. According to their law, a wife becomes the owner of half of her husband’s property after marriage. Registration of marriage is necessary in Goa. The couple has to sign a declaration for marriage which states the reason of their marriage. If there is no objection for the same within next 15 days marriage is granted. There is no such rule in other part of the country. With February 19 development, the couple’s marriage continues to be on hold. Hence the wedding is still in trouble.

Last week the Sanjay Manyata wedding was the most sought after news in Bollywood. But now the wedding is in controversy regarding its legality.

The couple has registered their marriage in Goa on 7th February.but now it is claimed by the first husband of Manayata, Meraj ul Rehman, that they are not divorced yet. The Goa district administration has now ordered re-examination of their marriage registration process that why the divorce papers were not filed during registration.

For any marriage to be registered in Goa, either of the couple has to be a Goan, and it need to be certified by the local authorities.

It was told by Manyata that she is a resident of Goa and living in Salcette for the last 6 months. Manyata has managed to submitted the residence Certificate for the same but there officers are suspecting for its validity. An anquiry is also put to to verify this truth. A memo has been sent to the official who issued the certificates to Manyata.
