Tashan is yet another Yash Raj banner’s movie but nothing sensual is there. Some unusual twists and turns left the characters as dumb without any strong impression. This will be the weakest film of the Yash Raj camp.

The debutant director Vijay Krishna Acharya of Yashraj camp, who is behind the scripts of Dhoom and Dhoom2 also, could not make any impressive stroke for the audience.

First half of the movie starts with a cool call centre executive Jimmy (Saif Ali Khan) who is entrusted the responsibility of teaching English to a desi bhojpuri gangster, Bhaiyyaji (Anil Kapoor). The teaching lessons to Bhaiyaaji gave some laughter strokes to the story initially which fades after some time.

Bhaiyyaji is hoping to sign a big project with some foreign delegates. But Bhaiyyaji’s key help the cunning girl, Pooja (Kareena Kapoor), who can’t be trusted, uses Jimmy to swindle Bhaiyyaji of Rs. 25 crores. Now Bhaiyajji wants his money back and also his revenge to Jimmy and Pooja.

Now Bachchan Pande (Akshay Kumar), an electricity stealer came into the scene to lift the story. He can climb, jump and fly with the support of just about anything. He can break all bones of the body and the result will always be 100%. He has done a great job in the movie.

Bhaiyyaji settles him to trace Pooja after Jimmy surrenders. And after a few drama lines and turns, the story ends. The proceedings in the movie tend to get vague as the movie moves ahead right from the Hollywood style road chase for treasure to a typical Hindi formula film of revenge and lost love etc.

Anil does a good job as the villain from Kanpur. Kareena couldn’t show her best in the film but Saif is in a new look.

Akshay is the real hero of the film. He enters in the second half to precede the dragging story of the movie. He leaves you awestruck with his action sequences. He really rocks in the movie giving a superb performance.

There are a lot of unwanted scenes, meaningless sequences and lengthy fight scenes made the movie rough. Music by Vishal Shekar and Choreography by Vaibhavi Maerchant are definitely entertaining and foot tapping enough but tend to barge into any portion of the film making the film’s Tashan take a dip.

However, the cinematography by Ayananka Bose is superb giving an eye feeling capturing of locales of Greece, Rajasthan, Kerala etc. Editing by Rameshwar S. Bhagat and art direction by Sukant Panigrahy further enhanced the Tashan (style) of the film.

The audience who are fed up of IPL, which is forcing producers to push their release further ahead, can go for Tashan. It can give a new style (Tashan) to their rough routine.

The ongoing Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) 2008 is rocked by many top Bollywood stars on show. The celebrities sizzled the ramp in top Indian designer’s creations in Mumbai.

The main attraction of the show included the first time ramp walk by the Saawariya fame Ranveer Kapoor. He showcased his designer friend Arjun Khanna’s collection. People gave a cheerful applause for the graceful Ranveer in an embroidered long coat with standing collar, straight pants in batik print and a scarlet tied around the neck.

Neetu Kapoor and Deepika Padukone cheered Ranbir as he walks the ramp for Arjun Khanna.

“I’m a bit degraded as far as fashion is concerned. All I know is through Arjun. He’s very passionate about everything in his life from designing clothes to his cars and bikes and even interior decoration. I love this guy to death and he asked me if I could walk on the ramp and I was more than happy to walk as I also love his fashion,” said Ranbir Kapoor.

Khanna’s collection offered evergreen slim fitted pants and cropped jackets. “Fabrics were coarser in my collection. I am looking at the fall-winter. I played with fabrics like Coudray, Cotton Coudray and Woolen Coudray. There is a lot of technique which went into making of all these clothes,” said Khanna.

Other Bollywood icons on the show include Urmila Matondkar, Farah Khan, Amrita Rao, Kajol and Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. King Khan’s wife Gauri Khan was also there to grace the occasion.

Saif admitted to his relationship with Kareena at the Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai last year. This year too the couple was spotted at designer Manish Malhotra’s showing.

It was for the first time the Bath and body product giant Lux showcased a line at the Lakme Fashion Week. Bollywood designer Manish Malhotra inspired by Lux’s new fruit extracts - strawberry, cream, peaches and put on display an array of flirty, feminine garments in shades of pink, ivory, oyster and coral.

“I have done it long time back when Urmila Matondkar walked on the ramp for the first time then. Then Preity Zinta, Kajol, Karishma Kapoor and Urmila all of these girls who have walked for me have worked with me for ten years. They believe in my brand, they believe in me, I believe in them and we had a long association but I just feel that now it has become that let’s make so and so walk. So I think now it is time that I don’t make any one walk so today I was the Lux boy,” said Manish.

Overall the day went totally unique and exclusive presenting the cool summer spring collections of Indian designers.

Yash Raj Films, One of the top production houses is coming with new bang in the bollywood this year. They has announced its film releases for 2008. action, fairies, animation, thrill and Romance all together in Yash Raj movies.

The upcoming movies include ‘Tashan’ coming on April 25, casting Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Anil Kapoor. It will be directed by first-timer Vijay Krishna Acharya,scriptwriter of the Dhoom series. The story is of a call centre executive, a desi wannabe gangster, a beautiful femme fatale and a murderous gangster, who loves nothing more than to kill people and practice his English.

Saif and Kareena’s love story started through this movie. Let’s see their on screen chemistry in the movie!

After Akhshay’s cameo in 1997’s Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Akshay is back to Yash Raj after a long time through ‘Tashan’.

Next movie under Yash Raj Banner casts Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji. Rani will play a role for a fairy in this Kunal Kohli’s untitled fantasy film. It also includes four children. Saif and Rani are regular stars of yash Raj banner after giving many hits like Hum Tum and Salaam Namaste. The film will release on June 27.

Bachna Ae Haseeno will include Ranbir Kapoor, Minisha Lamba, Deepika Padukone and Bipasha Basu.

Releasing on August 15, Saawariya fame Ranveer can be seen in the movie romancing three heroines, Minisha, Deepika and Bipasha. Earlier Katrina Kaif was also signed for a small role of her which was later deleted because of length of the movie exceeding more than enough.

Roadside Romeo will be the first animation movie of Yash Raj Films casting Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Jaaved Jaaferi. Directed by actor-turned-director Jugal Hansraj the movie will be coming on October 24 to entertain us. It is a tale of a rich, cool, spoilt dog and his new problems of life.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi will cast all time hit for Yash Raj that is Shah Rukh Khan. After eight years, Adi Chopra will direct a project once again and it will be the third film after the blockbuster Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Mohabbatein.

Sonam Kapoor is supposed to be signed opposite to Srk. This one of the most awaited film of the year can bang the theatres on December 12.

After Tiger Pataudi it’s the turn to his daughter Soha Ali Khan to be bounded by law. It is found that the gun used to shoot black deer in Jhajjar by his father Mansur Ali Khan Pattaudi belonged to Soha. Soha is blamed for getting the license of the gun renewed illegally by Gurgaon administration.

Famous cricketer of his time, Pataudi is arrested and gun is seized by the Jhajjar police. Soha apparently finds herself in trouble over the issue of hiding crucial facts such as the gun was used by her father for killing a black buck, which has now been listed among protected species.

The seizure memo of Jhajjar police made on June 5, 2005, states that Soha Ali Khan`s gun, a .22 bore rifle number 91501, was seized by them as the gun was being used by her father for hunting a blackbuck.

Soha was a minor when she had applied for the renewal of the gun license.

The issue rose when Naresh Kadyan, animal rights activist, issued an application under the Right to Information Act in the deputy commissioner’s office in Gurgaon.

Kadyan had stated if the administration had ascertained if the applicant (Soha) was an adult when she moved the application for the gun license.

Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner said that Soha will be interrogated and a notice will be sent to her. It will also be investigated about her age while issuing license for the gun and while renewing the license.
