Asif Ali Zardari the President of Pakistan has said that the terrorists of this reagion are so powerful that they can make up the war between India and Pakistan. He said to Indian government to stop blamming Pakistan government for the hand behind the Mumbai attack.

In my opinion this statement from the President of Pakistan is showing his utter weakness. Are those militants are more powerful than the two countries? Mind the fact that the two countries India and Pakistan are two nuclear power of the world.

As per his statement we can say that Pkiastan might not be capable of handling the terrorists of the reagion. They don’t have any control over them.

Zardari asked India to give the proof of the envolvement of the Pakistan in the attack. On the other hand the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Gilani said that “This incident will not mount the pressure between the two countries”.

On the other hand the elected President of US Mr. Obama has expressed that India has all the rights to protect it self in any way. He said that he has the faith that Mr.  Zardari will give all support to India.

Somnath expulsion is unfortunate: Karat!

After the UPA government has proved the vote of confidence on 22nd July by 275 to 256 vote victory followed by shocking scenario of waiving cash bundles by a few MPs at the floor of lower house, veteran Left leader Somnath Chatterjee has been expelled in view of his refusal to step down as the Speaker of Lok Sabha before the trust vote.

CPM general secretary Prakash Karat said on Thursday that it was “unfortunate” that the party had to take the decision but added Chatterjee can appeal against it.

“The Central Committee decided that no member of the party should remain the Speaker of Lok Sabha after the withdrawal of support. We were asked to communicate this to him. He did not agree…we had no option (but to take action),” Karat told reporters adding that Somnath can still appeal to the CPM central committee against his expulsion.

Karat told that the Left parties accepted a suggestion from the ruling party in 2004 that one of its members should be the Speaker and accepted it because “we were supporting the Government”. But as the Left is now the opposition party, the speaker cannot be from their party.

“On July 9, 2008 we withdraw our support to the government and became part of the opposition after that the CPM central committee decided that no one can be Speaker after withdrawal of support,” he continued.

“Between now and 2009 we will be in the opposition,” Karat said adding it would be difficult for the Government to function properly.

When pointed out that he had said that Chatterjee would take a final decision, he said, “to continue or not as the Speaker is his decision. It is up to him. But, whether he will remain as our party member will be decided by us.”

And regarding the shameful accusation of money in voting by the BJP MPs’ stating that a Samajwadi Party leader tried to bribe them by offering Rs three crore each for remaining absent from voting. Karat said that the tape submitted by a TV channel about the episode should be made public. It is a matter of serious concern and of public interest.

Karat has told that a nationwide campaign will be started against the government by them against Congress supported Indo-US Nuke deal, spiraling inflation, farmers’ suicide and terrorism.

“We will tell the country that this government is misusing institutions and agencies like CBI to harass political opponents,” Karat said.

Giving his guarantee that India has “no intention” to engage in an arms race with anyone, he expressed India’s readiness to contribute in this regard.

Singh said New Delhi is “fully committed to nuclear disarmament that is global, universal and non-discriminatory in nature”, a goal which will enhance security of all countries.

While inaugurating a conference `Towards a World Free of Nuclear Weapons’ in New Delhi he said, “The painful reality is that the goal of global disarmament, based on the principles of universality, non-discrimination and effective compliance, still remains a distant one.”

He cautioned about the “increasing danger of non-state actors accessing nuclear materials and devices, development of new weapon systems based on emerging technologies which pose challenges to space security and provide new roles for nuclear weapons and the weakening multi-literalism even as bilateral arms control processes falter in shifting strategic landscapes.”

Referring to the “growing risk that nuclear weapons may be acquired by terrorists or those driven by extreme ideologies, he said, “Even more disturbing, however, is the emergence of new threats and challenges to global security.

If they are going to resolve the — their issues within their own political system, it is going to be up to them to do so based on the agreement that is on the table,” McCormack said while replying to a query that asked if there could be major changes in the Indo-US civil nuclear agreement that could make some in India act on the issue.

US is worried for the Nuclear material of India!

In a recent report United States has shown it’s concern over the possible use of the nuclear material by terrorists.

A senior Bush administration official has said today that India is vulnerable to its nuclear material being targeted by terrorists. He also told that this danger is no higher than the danger faced by many other countries including US.

“Every country, whether it be India, United States, other country, could be potentially part of this small network of countries where terrorists can obtain material or expertise,” Rolf Mowatt-Larssen, Director of the Office of Intelligence and Counter Intelligence at the US Department of Energy, stated this at a Congressional hearing on ‘Nuclear Terrorism’, when asked by Democratic Senator Daniel Akaka if India has rejected offers of nuclear security cooperation.
