Why IPL is getting so much popularity?

Have you seen any IPL match on Television or in the stadium? If not then you must have missed something.

In India these days some thing which is rocking in the evening is the DLF Indian Premiere League. Whether you are sitting in your drawing room or you are on road, you can easily see the cricket match is going on in Television and some of your near dear one are watching it.

Now my question was why IPL is getting so much popularity?

First thing first, it is cricket. Does not matter that it is a cricket of 40 overs only. India is especially crazy for cricket, so why not IPL will get the popularity?

Second thing, there is a bit of Bollywood involved in it. The second most popular thing, after cricket, in India is the glare of Big Screen. The stars like Shahrukh Khan, Prety Zinta etc. are making this IPL more and more interesting.

Third Thing is that it take less time, around three hours and people can assume that they are going to watch out a movie. So IPL is pulling the families to see matches.

Fourth thing is the involvement of some big big face in the match. Cricketers like Gilchrist, McCullum, Smith etc. are making it more interesting.

Fifth thing which is more valuable in my point of view is the involvement of some junior and unknown players with some of the big names of the cricket. It really looks quite satisfactory to watch players like Niraj Patel or Trivedi to play along with Shane Warne.

So overall these five reasons were making IPL a hot cake to eat. Please share some more reasons, which you consider, with our visitors.

Historical Final of CB series tomorrow!

Dhoni and SachinIndian team and the cricket lovers are eagerly looking forward to end the league phase of the competition tomorrow with the second final match of the CB series. The Gabba in Brisbane has the honour of hosting this second and possibly the deciding final too of the tri-series with India and Australia on 4 March. India has won the first final match by 6 wickets and leading the series by 1-0.

Indian team is just 1 step far from victory and if it won on the soil of Gabba, it will be a written in golden words in the cricket history for first time winning the tri-series in Australia. This test series has gone through a lot of controversies and many arguments are associated with it. After going through a lot of stress due to these controversies Dhoni’s team mission is to win the series.

Team India will have to be deprived of young Strike bowler Ishant Sharma in the mast match of the series. He got an injury on his finger in the previous match. His middle finger of right hand is still swollen and hence there are doubts about his playing in this match. Luckily, Indian team has medium pacer Munaf Patel and S.Srisanth to counterpart Ishant’s loss. Young talent Praveen Kumar had shown his caliber in two previous matches but Pathan is still struggling for his form. Other than these four, Harbhajan will be the fifth player while Piyush chawla is out in spite of brilliant performance in the previous match. Sachin is in form after giving a terrific performance with his bat making first century in Australia in first final.

Indian batters have done terrific job at very right time. If continued, they can be proved better than their host. Indian bowling and fielding seems very energetic and Indian batters are scoring good runs. Australia will have to devote its full energy in this situation to struggle for their win. Among the top 5 wicket snatchers of the series, 3 belong to Australia which includes Bratt Lee, Nathan Braken and Michael Jhonson. Indian players had forced the 3 to perspire sweet heavily in the previous match. This time Australian team can feel pride for showing their noticeable performance only in 2 matches. Australian team will be dependent on Rickey Ponting and Andrew Symonds. Opener Adam GilChrist though showed good in two turns otherwise flop in the entire series.

Not only could this be the last game of the triangular format, but it may well be Adam Gilchrist’s last ever match for Australia. After being a part of world champions for a long time, it would be interesting if he retires after defeated by team India.

The chances of Australia being involved are good - only three times in the 28 year history of the three-team tournament has the host nation missed the finals.

Match will be start at 8:45(IST). Hope team India will be back with glitters on their name. Good luck India!

Manjerkar blames Tendulkar for India’s failure!

Everyone seems to blame the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar for India’s failure against Australian the CB series .from Captain Dhoni to Former India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar are now upset with the repeatedly cheap performance of Sachin in the matches.

“Another problem that India have these days when they bat second on a good pitch, is that their most experienced batsman, who bats at such an influential position in the batting order, becomes almost redundant,” Manjrekar wrote in his column for the Times of India.

Tendulakar have just managed to get a low average of 18.28 in last seven matches with 128 runs only. Compared to his earlier achievements in the last 51 one-day internationals with around an average of 62.1 in 24 innings when he bats first is very weak. When he bats second, it was 26.00 in 27 innings.

Manjrekar believes that Tendulkar seems to let the team down the most when chasing big targets.

Manjerkar is surprised as well as shocked as no one is talking about Sachin’s poor performance.

Has he really exhausted his potential??

Dhoni criticized seniors for the defeat!

India lost the match against Australia on 24 Feb. in CB series and the Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni directly criticized the senior batsman for the narrow defeat by 18 runs only.

Dhoni said, “I am quite happy for the bowlers. They bore their responsibility well. I just hope that the top order could have contributed a little bit more to the total.”

Sachin Tendulkar and Virendra Sehwag did not give any significant contribution to the team on Sunday and were out one by one easily by the Australian ballers.

Dhoni said, “As for the selfless batting by young batters, we need 16 like them, not those who go for individual 50s and 100s. You need characters in the side.”

“Gambhir and Uthappa played really well; Gambhir worked the ball around and hit clean shots. His running between the wickets was also noticeable.”

Dhoni is happy for selfless efforts of his young players but was utterly disappointed with the poor showing of the top order batsman of India. Dhoni didn’t found anything wrong in his cautious playing when facing such a big target put by Australia.

“It was a very good effort. First from our bowlers who kept Australia down to 320 which we thought was gettable. The part-timers bowled very well and kept the pressure off regular bowlers,” Dhoni said.

“We always had the game in control. We relaxed a little bit after we got their four early wickets.

Dhoni set the poor performance of senoir batsman as the major reason for India falling short by just 18 runs while chasing the huge target of 318 runs.

Also Dhoni gave some indications to change the batting order in the next match on Tuesday.

“In any case, we would like to seal the match against Sri Lanka and not leave it to the last game between Australia and Sri Lanka. Next game is very important for us.” Dhoni said as he looked ahead for Tuesday’s must win match.

The way Indian team will reach in finals!

Australia won today’s match against Sri Lanka by 24 runs. All the three teams had played six matches and according to points gathered by each team, Australia is at the top with 21. India secured second position winning two matches out of six. Two matches have been drawn because of rain. With this India is at second number with 12 points. Sri Lanka is at last position with only 6 points.

Now all the three teams will play two matches each, that means in total three matches will be played. To place India in finals, Team India has to win the match going to be held on this Sunday (24 Feb). If India will win this match then its point will be increased to 16(or 17 with bonus points) and after that Sri Lanka cannot cross Indians in this series whether Sri Lanka wins both the next matches.

Although if India loss the match on Sunday than Dhoni’s team must have to win Tuesday’s match on 26th Feb. And if bad luck continues to show on 26th Feb., than final result will depend on Sri Lanka-Australia match on 29th Feb. If Sri Lanka will win this match than Indian team will have to come back and final match will be played between Sri Lanka and Australia.

Hence it will be better if Dhoni’s team would not let the decision to go so far. Sunday match should be won by the team and Sri Lanka will be out of the game with this victory. Let’s see how much faith we can put on our team on Sunday. Good luck Dhoni!
