Bainsla agreed for peaceful talks with Rajasthan government after a long tussle between two sides and the first round of the talk was held in Bayana on Monday. He has made the two demands a pre-condition for the talks which were to be held in Jaipur, a senior state government official informed source.

Indo-Pak dialogue to start on Tuesday!

Indo-Pak talks will be held in Islamabaad on May 20 and 21 between External Affairs minister Pranab Mukherjee and the top Pakistani leadership, including President Pervez Musharraf. India is expected to raise concerns about cross-border terrorism during the high-level meetings.

It will be the first high-level political engagement with the new Pakistani Government and it is hoping to forge the dialogs “with an open mind and positive framework.”

The recent Jaipur blasts will not be taken as a chance to derail the talks. “We don’t want to lend victory to forces, which are aiming at derailing the peace process between the two countries,” a source said.

The two sides will review the fourth round of Composite Dialogue and assess progress made on eight issues, including Jammu and Kashmir, terrorism, Siachen, Sir Creek and confidence building measures.

India is expected to press for launch of more bus services across the Line of Control. India will also demand the early operational of the truck service when the two sides resume the composite dialogue in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The Indian side is also expected to propose increasing the frequency of fortnightly Srinagar-Muzaffarabad and Poonch-Rawalakot bus services to make these weekly, official sources said in New Delhi on Monday.

The two countries have already decided to launch the truck service to boost cross-LoC trade but lack of preparedness on part of the Pakistani side has been delaying the initiative.

India has already made all preparations, including widening the road between Baramulla and Kaman Post, the last point on this side of LoC, and establishing other infrastructural facilities.

Liberalisation of the permit system used for travel across the LoC will also be on the agenda, the sources said. The two sides will also deliberate on liberalisation of visa norms to encourage more travel between the two countries.

The Indian nation prisoner Sarabjit Singh’s issue will also be expected to raised while the talk. Sarabjit is in Lahore jail for last 14 years. Other Indian prisoners in Pakistani jail will be taken care while the meeting.

“As far as we are concerned, there will be talk about the condition of prisoners, in an overall sense, which will include Sarabjit Singh’s case,” official sources said.
