Apple iphone 3G in India!

After a long wait by the Indians, the company Apple is introducing the Apple iphone 3G in India. This second generation model of the Apple iphone launched earlier in June last year has the 3G broadband facility, Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver.

Tim Cook, the chief operating officer (COO) of Apple, expressed his excitement over working with Bharati-Airtel to bring their advanced technology product in the hands of millions of Indian users at the world wide developers conference (WWDC) in San Francisco which was also the unveiling ceremony of the priced product carried by Steve Jobs, the chief executive Officer (CEO) of the product parent company, Apple. India being a large market for mobiles is another reason for the company to hope a good business here.

Expressing his elation to be working with the worlds largest telecommunication company, Vodafone, Mr. Cook informed that India would be one of the 10 countries (including Australia and Italy) in which their phone model would be introduced with the Vodafone connection. Other than Vodafone, Airtel is the other GSM teleco. to retail this model.

As concluded by everyone, the phone model was being expected in June this year, failure of which was heart breaking for most expectant here, but with the announcement of its release by the end of this year, the apple mobile freaks have all the good news in their hands. The model would be in the market by July 11 in twenty two different countries and around seventy countries by the end of the year.

Much has not been revealed about the pricing of the phone in India but it sure was a shock for the Americans when Jobs, the CEO, unveiled the price of the 16 GB model to bee $299 and the 8 GB model at $199 as compared to the last year predecessor of the Iphone 3G at $399 for the 4 GB set and $499 for the 8 GB one.
