Why Eggs are a Perfect Breakfast Diet for You?

For me the best breakfast was an Omelet with bread. Recently I came through a few articles which were explaining about the benefits of eating eggs, so I too decided to write something about eggs, my favorite breakfast dish.

Eggs are the most popular and nutritious food items, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner, we can eat it at any time. For many people eggs are the simple combination of yolk and white, and they consider that eggs are a combination of fat (in the form of yolk) and protein in the form of white materials. But in fact eggs are not just these two things only.

Eggs not only contain proteins and fat rather they also contain vitamins (A, D, E, B1, B2, B6, B12), Iron, Zinc, Calcium, Iodine, and Selenium which is very much required for growing kids as well as for adults also. Here are benefits of these vitamins, which we can directly get from eggs:

Vitamin A: Vitamin A is really good for skin and body growth.

Vitamin B1: Vitamin B1 is one special types of vitamin which actually helps to release energy from protein and fat.

Vitamin B6: It is very good for our body and it helps to promote the metabolism of the protein.

Vitamin B12: The most important type of vitamin is the B12, which helps us in the formation of nerve fibers and blood cells in our body.

Vitamin D: Vitamin D is one the best vitamins and it is very much required for our body. It helps strengthening bones by increasing the calcium absorption rate.

Iron: As we all know that Iron is crucially required for the creation of red blood cells which helps us to increase the immunity system of the body and fight against the diseases. Thus Iron makes eggs much beneficial.

Zinc: Zinc is good for enzyme stability. Other than this it is also required for sexual maturation.

Calcium: Calcium is the most common type of mineral which helps us to strengthening the bones and teeth. Calcium is very much required to the growing kids and women.

Iodine: As we all know that decrease of Iodine in our body causes thyroid problems, so Iodine helps us to control the thyroid hormones.

Selenium: Last but not the least mineral found in eggs is Selenium which is actually similar to Vitamin E. It protects cells from oxidation.

So we have seen the benefits of the vitamins and minerals in eggs, other than these according to the experts, eggs contain the purest form of protein. Most of the nutritionists consider eggs as the standard while comparing with other food items. So friends be it Sunday or Monday, eat eggs daily.

Some surprising uses of Eggs!

Eggs, mainly restricted to kitchens came out to give its appearance visible for other surprising uses also. Some of the other uses of eggs which you will find interesting and might be unknown to you are as follows:

1. As a glue: What if egg white is used as an alternate for glue? Yes! Egg whites can act as a glue substitute when gluing paper or light cardboard together. It is a perfect adhesive for such tasks.

2. Home facial: Eggs are perfect skin care products which are readily available at home and needs no time and heavy money to spend in the local day spa.

For a dry skin, separate the egg and beat the yolk to provide moisture with a little pampering. Egg white to which a bit of lemon or honey added can be used in case of oily skin. For normal skin, however, the entire egg can be used. Apply the beaten egg, relax and wait 30 minutes, then rinse. This will give a fresh look and soft skin to your face.

3. Make compost: In place of wasting the calcium rich eggshells, they can be a great addition to your compost. Calcium is a nutrient that helps plants to grow. Crush the egg shells before you put them in your compost heap to break down faster. This compost will give extra calcium to the plants and your plants will say ‘thank You’.

4. Water your plants: After boiling eggs, the remaining water can be used to water the plants in place of pouring down the drain. This water is highly rich in nutrients and can be used watering the plants after cooling.

5. Start seeds: Eggshells can be used as a holder to plant seeds. Place the eggshell halves in the carton, fill each with soil, and press seeds inside. As the eggshells are highly rich in nutrients the seeds will draw extra nutrients from the eggshells. After the seedlings are about 3 inches (7.5 centimeters) tall, they can be transplanted into the garden after removing them from the shell.

The removed shell can be reused. Crush them and put in your compost or plant them in your garden.

An egg a day may lead to early death!

OmletteFond of omelette’s and eggs! Beware!
A recent study revealed that eating an egg a day on average may increase the risk of early death for middle aged men.

The study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition conducted by researchers Luc Djousse and J Michael Gaziano states that seven or more eggs in a week increase the risk of premature death by 23 per cent. The main factor told behind this finding is the relatively high cholesterol content, at around 220 milligrams per yolk, which may increase cholesterol level and can lead to heart diseases.

Egg consumption was associated with a greater risk of all-cause mortality, and that there was suggestive evidence for a greater risk of heart attack and stroke among diabetic males.

The study observed that men eating the most number of eggs were also older, fatter, were more likely to drink alcohol and smoke, and less likely to exercise — all factors that create the risk of heart attack and death.

The study gives rise to a new debate of how may eggs should a person eat?
