Wish the Best of Luck in Your Own Style to Team India!

Hey friends, I am creating this post for you people to wish a warm Best of Luck to the Team India. As you all are aware that 12 cricket playing nations India, Bangladesh, Ireland, Pakistan, England, Netherlands, Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sctland are going to fight for the World Cup in the Twenty 20 cricket format which is beginning today at England.

As you all are aware that Team India is the defending champions and other 11 countries are going to challenge them for the trophy. India is placed along with Bangladesh and Ireland in the Group A, while Pakistan, England and Netherlands are placed together in Group B. The most toughest group of the tournament is the Group C which contains Australia, Sri Lanka and West Indies, while the Group D is containing New Zealand, South Africa and Scotland.

At the moment Team India is looking highly capable of retaining the Title. The team at the moment is a bunch of some highly talented youngsters along with some multi talented guys and captained by the Mr. Cool M. S. Dhoni. If you look at the top order then dashing opener Virender Sehwag is there with much talented Gautam Gambhir. This opening pair is the best of all the teams which are playing there. If you give an eye on the middle order then you can truly find India as the World Champions. Middle order of team India is having the firepower in the form of the King of Six Yuvraj Singh, most attacking batsman Suresh Raina, very dependable Rohit Sharma and the skipper himself. Along with them the team has the superb all rounders like Yusuf Pathan, Ravindra Jadeja and Irfan Pathan. Now if you see the bowling attack then it too have the balance which is very much required for a World Champions team, the seam attack department is there in the hand of Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma, highest wicket taker in the IPL 2009 Rudra Pratap Singh and much reliable Praveen Kumar, and then the spin attack is there in the hand of Harbhajan Singh and Pragyan Ojha. Remember the team has two batsman who can bowl brilliantly at crucial time, I am talking about Yuvraj Singh and Rohit Sharma, Both has shown their talents in the IPL 2009 by taking the hat-trick in the tournament. Yuvraj Singh took 2 hat-tricks while Rohit Sharma took 1. Now if your team is having these type of players how can you assume them not to retain the trophy. Only thing which can damage the performance of the team India is the overconfidence, which they will have to take care of.

So friends, here is the space where you can wish the best of luck to your favorite Team India especially in your own style. You can post the comment here and this will show them how much you love them and how much you care about the world champions.

Can India be able to retain the World Champions Title?

The big question of the moment is about the performance of the Indian cricket team in the upcoming Twenty 20 World Championship. It is a well known fact that India is the winner team of the 2007 Twenty 20 world cup, and they are looking as the most eligible contender for the 2009 title at the moment.

I am the biggest fan of the Indian cricket team, but still I have a doubt. I am feeling that there is something which this present team is missing. My doubt is getting more strength after seeing the defeat of the Indian team in the practice match against New Zealand. This practice match was played between India and New Zealand at Lord’s, London, on tomorrow 1st of June 2009.

Team India won the toss in the match and asked Kiwis to bat first, with the help of some brilliant knock by McCullum and Taylor Kiwis made 170 runs for 7 wickets in the 20 overs. Although the first wicket partnership between Gambhir and Rohit Sharma was of 42 runs that too in only 5 overs, but once Gambhir became out, wickets of Team India fell regularly and then despite the briliiant knock of 45 by Raina and unbeaten 41 by Ravindra Jadeja, Team india fell short of 9 runs.

Although it was a practice match and the power hitter like yuvraj Singh did not bat in the match, also India gave rest to the dashing opener Virendra Sehwag, still the defeat is causing concern in the mind of the followers. It is also true that Team India will not face many problem in going to the next round as they are in a safe group. Indian team has got the place in Group A along with the weak teams like Bangladesh and Ireland, so they won’t have to worry so much, but this format of cricket is very unpredictable and Bangladesh is a team which has a few times defeated us at a crucial moment.

Another matter of concern for me is the sideeffects of Indian Premiere League. Many international players like Rickey Ponting ignored IPL, but almost all Indian players from the present team were a part of around a month long tournament. Hence, almost all of them are feeling tired. Another big concern is the injury of Zaheer Khan, which is again the outcome of the IPL. Although Indian skipper MS Dhoni is saying that these issues are not going to affect the performance of the Indian team, and even Sachin Tendulkar is having the feeling that India will retain the championship.

So let’s wait and watch how Team India is going to fair in the Twenty 20 World Cup 2009.

We should respect national awards

Imagine you are being given the Padmashri Award and somehow you cannot go to receive it. Wouldn’t you feel the unluckiest person on this planet? Well maybe Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh doesn’t share the same feelings as yours. They missed the recent Padamshri Award ceremony according to their own convenience and didn’t quite feel like explaining why they did so. They both were expected to be present at the Rashtrapati Bhavan ceremony to receive their respective awards but they failed to accept their awards as they chose not to attend the prestigious ceremony.

Dhoni cited the excuse of commercial commitments where as Harbhajan Singh had family matters to attend to. Well which one of us doesn’t have a family or job to take care of? But would we ever miss such an opportunity to receive the Padmashri award? Probably the cricketers should understand that they are celebrities and not just any other ordinary people. They should understand that in a cricket crazy nation like ours, people follow them as gods and anything they say or do has direct impact on their fans. Rather than building an example in front of their fans, it’s sad to see the cricketer’s behavior towards the award.

There should be stricter government regulations towards such indecent acts and the government should seek a formal apology from the cricketers. It is such a shameful matter that such celebrities in their own right failed to respect the honors given to them by our government. We all should know how to respect the honors and awards given to us because it is almost derogatory and insulting to the country and its people when celebrities fail to acknowledge such high ranked awards given by the government. In fact in future no such honors should be given to these cricketers if they don’t know how to respect the country and its government.

My Favorite IPL Team for this Session!

Last year my favorite team was Kolkata Knight Riders, though the team did not played well enough to reach to the semifinal stage but till the last match I supported the team. Although I liked the Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils too but none of them reached to the finals of the IPL session one last year.

Many people were asking me the favorite team for this session, so I thought to post my choice. As expected it was Kolkata Knight Riders till two days back, but the removal of Saurav Ganguly as the skipper of the team caused my heart break and I decided to not follow the team matches now. I strongly believe that Saurav Ganguly was the best ever player from Kolkata so far, and he should be the skipper of any team which is basically developed in the name of Kolkata. It is one sort of insult for Dada, and I would not support the team now.

This session I have also decided that I am not going to support the matches in which Harbhajan Singh and Mahender Singh Dhoni were playing. It is because that these two players were my favorite players, but a few days’ back they insulted the nation, by skipping the Padma Shri award function, which is the most prestigious award for the civilians of India. This clearly indicates that these people are now an image which is bigger than their country, which I never appreciate, although I know I am no one to put finger on these celebrities, they are such a big guys that they would not be affected from such type of opposes, but, still I think I should oppose them. I love my country India and I will never support the people who will do any thing to insult my nation, so I am here by announcing that I will not support the Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians any way in the matches from now on.

I think that Mr. Dhoni is now thinking that no one will ever replace him from the captaincy of Team India, but friend you never know when you are out from the frame. People love you because you have served the nation, but if you are going to insult the nation no one is going to love you then. Same for Mr. Bhajji too, we still remember the face of Bhajji after the slap incident (with Shreesanth during last session) and when BCCI was suppose to ban him forever.

Any ways, I do like the Mumbai Indians team because of the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, who was not only the icon but he is the greatest son of India. MS Dhoni and Harbhajan should at least take a few lesson from him, he has never missed any such type of award function despite the busy schedule. Any ways leave the issue now, so the three teams are out of my mind and they are KKR, MI, and CSK. Now coming to the fourth team which is for sure not suppose to get my support, and that is Rajasthan Royals, the defending champions.

I have mentioned the reasons against them in the last article: The Best Example of Globalization. Now out of the remaining four team Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Daredevils, Bangalore Royal Challengers, and Deccan Chargers, I don’t have any reason to support the last two depending on the performance in the last session. So for me only two options are left, one of them is Kings XI Punjab. I like the team but I am not the supporter of this team.

So this year I am going to support the Delhi Daredevils, the reason behind this is the form of the dashing openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir. Other then them I too like Amit Mishra, Ashish Nehra, Manoj Tiwary, Farvej Maharoof, McGrath and Dilshan. So for this session my favorite team for IPL 2 is Delhi Daredevils.

Nothing went in the favor of the Indian Team and they failed to capitalize the superb start given by Virender Sehwag. Team India first lost the toss and forced to bat on the moisture pitch. Although Indian skipper Dhoni insisted that he was looking for batting first, because it was the strength of the Indian team.

So India started the innings with Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir. They two provided the superb start for the team. Sehwag hit 3 sixes in three consecutive balls which he faced. They scored 19 runs in the very first over, which was a record for any team in Twenty 20 Internationals. But suddenly Team India lost the wicket of Gauti at the last ball of second over. It was a blow to the Indian team by O’Brian.

Raina joined the ground with Sehwag, and we thought that this pair will build up a bit of partnership, but O’Brian provided the much awaited break through to the Kiwis, in the form of the wicket of Virender Sehwag. He dismissed Sehwag in the very first ball of the fourth over. Then in the sixth over Rohit Sharma departs in the ball of Butler. Following them Yuvraj and skipper Dhoni the two powerful striker of Indian team fell cheaply and this brought Team India to a total of 61 for the loss of 5 wickets in 7.5 Overs.

After them it was Yusuf Pathan who hit 3 consecutive six in the ball of McCullam but Oram took his brilliant catch at the boundaries and this caused the sixth wicket fell of India. Irfan Pathan too fell cheaply while the score was 101 in 13.3 over’s.

It was the turn of Bhajji and Raina then and they brought India to a respectable total of 162 for the loss of 8 wickets. Harbhajan Singh became out on the last ball of the inning.

Kiwis too started badly and only 2 runs was scored by them in the very first over of Zaheer, in which there was one wide too. Then in the first ball of the second over Ishant Sharma dismissed Ryder, the dangerous opener of New Zealand. Thus Kiwis score reached to 2 runs for the loss of one wicket.

Guptill was the man who bring India to the back foot and he made a quick 41 runs in just 28 balls, he hit 4 boundaries and 3 six. He fell at the score of 56 in 6.4 over’s. He was dismissed by Bhajji in his very first over. After this Taylor made a fantastic 31 runs in 28 balls, in which he made one boundary and 3 six. He fell at the score of 106, in 13.2 over’s. It was the last moment of joy for the team India. Taylor was dismissed by Zaheer Khan, the main strike bowler of Team India. He did the splendid job but then he was not able to take any more wickets.

Finally it was McCullam and Oram who wrapped up the match with 7 balls left. Kiwis defeated the World Champions by 7 wickets but still Team India has a chance to level the series, the second match is scheduled on 27th February.

Can India be able to create History after 41 years!

We are waiting for a victory in New Zealand from last 41 years, every time whenever Team India visited New Zealand they faced the defeat. Can the Dhoni brigade be able to make history this time?

Tons of expectations are following the current Indian team, but as the conditions in New Zealand is not at all favorable to the teams of the subcontinent. The bouncy pitch and fast wind all these things are against the subcontinent batsman, as they have practiced on a slow pitch and they are having the history of failure on bouncy pitch.

So the Team India under the captanicy of Mahender Singh Dhoni can be able to tackle the fast balls and bouncy pitch. One of the most eagerly awaited cricket series in New Zealand over the last few seasons gets underway tomorrow with the first of two Twenty20 internationals.

The second Twenty20 is scheduled on 27th February. Then there are five One Day Internationals between the two country. After the ODI series three test matches are also scheduled between the two countries. When last time Team India visited New Zealand, Kiwis defeated India in both the format of the game.

This time Team India is with some of the great in form players like Sehwag, Gambhir, Raina, Yuvraj, and the skipper Dhoni himself. In bowling department too India is having Zaheer, Ishant, and Harbhajan, and this is the second half of the summer - which is generally warmer and relatively free of rain, so the conditions can favor Team India a bit too.

So the war is beginning from tomorrow and you can check the Latest Cricket News and live Cricket Updates from these sites.

India is Eying the Series Victory in Sri Lanka!

It took around 23 years to Team India to win any bilateral series in Sri Lanka. Last year in August Team India won the five match series by 3-2 and just after six months India is once again on the verge of a series victory against Sri Lanka in Lanka.

dhoni and mahela jayawardene

India is eying the series victory in the today’s day night match against Sri Lanka which is scheduled in Colombo at 2:30 PM local time. India has already won the first two limited over match against them with a bit of easiness.

Mahender Singh Dhoni the Indian skipper has warned the Indian batsman against the Murali and Mendis factor which is also known as M factor. On the other hand Dhoni is a bit tensed with the bowlers too, like he mentioned in the last game that there is some confusion in the mind of the fast bowlers in the match. Ishant Sharma who became the player of the last match, and who took 4 wickets in the match, has also confirmed that he needs to concentrate a bit more on the game. He was too looking a bit confused as he spent 40 runs in his second spell of 4 over.

On the other hand Mahela Jaywardene is tensed from the team’s performance. Although he gained the much needed form back in the last game, and Jayasuriya is batting well at the top order but the failure of the Dilshan at the top order is a matter of worry for him. Even Sangakkara is not getting the fine touch for which he was known for. Early wicket fell can cost them much, he is aware from this fact.

While Murali and Mendis are bowling well, though they are unable to take wicket, which is again the matter of concern for them. Fast bowlers are not striking too much.

Both the teams are almost equivalent as far as talents are concerned and Sri Lanka has the capability for the come back, so it is almost possible that they can come back from tonight’s match only. Let’s see what they can be able to do tonight. For live score of the third ODI please click here and if you want to read the preview of the match then you can visit the latest cricket news website.

Team India won the first test against England!

Team India won the first test against England. When Indian skipper lost the toss and then the top order of Indian team failed in the first inning and India faced a trail of 75 runs in the first inning, no one was thinking that India can even win this match. Not even at the time when England declared their second inning just before tea on Day Four, thus England gave India a mammoth target of 387 in the last inning.

The previous examples of the targets met by Indian Team in the sub continent were not a good symbol in the second inning, and the results of at the tea of Day Four was clearly indicating one option of the England’s victory and second one of a draw, which too was looking so dim in the conditions there at Chennai. It was not at all easy to bat on the breaking pitch on Day Four and Fifth.

Four people Sachin, Yuvraj, Sehwag, and Gambhir rewrite the history today for India and thus the Dhoni brigade made the history of a famous victory against England by chasing the fourth highest total in the test history. The foundation was made by Virender Sehwag on Yesterday. His blistering knock of 83 in just 68 balls was a match winning inning and turned the match towards India.

The match has once again proved the importance of the captaincy of MS Dhoni. This victory is the fourth consecutive victory under his captaincy and thus he has a 100% record so far. The 41st test century of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar was superb and he dedicated his century to the people who lost their life during Mumbai Attack.

The match also provided the much needed platform to Yuvraj Singh to show his strength in Test matches too. He was called to replace Dada and his not out 85 was a good reply to those critics who are blaming him for his inconsistency in tests. After all he too failed in the first inning.

One thing which hurts me is the form of Rahul Dravid. I don’t know what has happened to the best batsman of the Indian team. Once he was known as The Wall and Mr. Reliable but these days his performance is certainly going through some bad patch. I would be happy to see him making some big inning for India. Let’s see what is going to happen with him.

Is everything ok with Irfan Pathan and Dhoni?

Big question at the moment of every Indian cricket lover is the same. Is everything ok with Irfan Pathan and the skipper of Indian team Mahender Singh Dhoni. A report from a news channel recently caused this havoc a few days back, that there is a rift in between the skipper and the national selectors.

Irfan Pathan and Dhoni

Irfan Pathan and Dhoni

Skipper MS Dhoni offered his resignation a few days back on the issue of selection of Irfan Pathan in the team in place of Rudra Pratap Singh. Every cricket lover in India is worried about this question and they are praying to the God that it should not be true.

Although Team India has won the Hero Honda Cup against England last night only, cause they have taken a lead of 4-0 in the series and now a few players will sure to get the chance on the next three matches who are not in the present playing eleven. This type of the news of rift can only cause the demoralization of the players rather than doing any thing good for India.

People are aware from the fact that MS Dhoni and RP Singh are close friends, but Dhoni should also remember this thing that he is the captain of the Indian National team. He should not bring his friendships in between the selection procedure. We can understand that this might be a rumor of the media but if it is true then Dhoni should take a look at this, because this will hurt his image only.

If he was backing Yuvraj Singh during the day of the bad form, then too it was your friendship with him, but as Yuvraj regained his form and that too in a terrific way then no one will put the finger on you, but if you are supporting some one who is not performing well then every one is going to put finger on you.

We wishes Team India a good luck for the coming remaining three ODI matches of the Hero Honda Cup, while we would like to congratulate them too for defeating them by a margin of 4-0.

Indian Skipper of Test Team Anil Kumble announced retirement!

One more senior player left the team at a time when team was facing criticism from all side. Anil Kumble, popularly known as Jumbo, the number one wicket tacker for Indian team in cricket history and number three till today, has announced the retirement from test cricket with immediate effect. He is not going to play in the fourth test match between India and Australia in Nagpur.

Kumble and Saurav Ganguly

Kumble and Saurav Ganguly

In his absense Mahender Singh Dhoni, the ODI skipper of Team India will lead the team. The desicion of retirement came as a shock to the lovers of Kumble. He was facing criticism from all side due to his lack of performance in the on going Border Gavaskar Trophy.

Saurav Ganguly, one more former Indian skipper and great south-paw batsman has already announced his retirement from the cricket. Nagpur test is going to be his last appearence. The desicion of Kumble’s retirement was once again due to the pressure created by some sections of media on these senior players. It is true that new people are coming ahead with good performance, but still the way in which these senior players are forced to announce retirement is not good.

Dada, and then Kumble, both were served Indian team from last 15-20 years. There contribution to the team’s present status can never be justified by a few bad performances. But some section of media never allowed them to settle down. I am really feeling bad about the way in which these giants are saying bye to international cricket.

In his career, Kumble played in 132 test matches while he took 619 test wickets. He led the country in 14 test matches. He was behind Muralitharan (756) and Shane Warne (708), in case of number of test wickets is concerned.
