Few Tips for a Successful Career Change!
Mar 10, 2010 Careers
Thinking about changing your career, here are a few tips which can help you to decide how to opt for a successful career transition. It is quite obvious that people think about job change. There are many reasons why people opt for a job change; here are a few of them:
Un-satisfaction: Job satisfaction is something which everyone need from their job. Are you not satisfied with the daily work which you do in the office? If the answer of this question is yes, then you must need to find out why are you unhappy with the present job. Now there may be two things associated with the job satisfaction issue, either it can be related to your work, or it can be related to your work environment. It is you who need to find out the proper reason of un-satisfaction.
To be very frank, it can be easily resolved, if handled properly. You need to think about what you can do to make you satisfy with your work. You don’t need to leave the job for this reason as you might be able to face the same in the next job too. Also due to recession, better jobs are really hard to find out, so first try to resolve this problem in the present job only.
Promotion: Do you think that you won’t be able to get promotion in the present job? Why are you thinking the same? Does your company have any promotion schedule? Then you need to wait for it, and see how you are getting it. If you are not getting it as per your desire then you must need to consult the HR department of your office, so that it can be resolved.
Recognition of Your Work: In my views this is the most concerned reason to change the job. Either you think that you are not getting the recognition of your hard work, or your company think that you are a useless fellow, despite you work hard. If you really want to resolve this issue then you must need to talk to your boss. Ask the views of your boss about your work and then try to improve.
Overworked: It happens some time that you feel overworked. The reason behind this is that many times employers think to cut the HR cost and expect the employees to work more with the limited resources. You can also manage this problem with having a discussion with your employers. But for this you need to collect documents in the favor of your claim. You can also ask your employers to hire some part time employee so that your company can understand the importance of your work, and your situation will also become safe.
You Dislike your Job: Now this is something in which no one can help you about. It happens sometime that we think that we have chosen the wrong profession, and we start hating our own job. In this case you need to explore the options in your hand. You need to think about the field in which you can become comfortable.
There are no data available which can tell clearly the reasons why people do change the job. Come whatever, you need to find out the reason and then only you can decide weather you really want to change your job or not. There is no clear formula which can give you guaranteed success in job change. Here are a few tips which can help you out if you are thinking about Job Change:
Nothing Will Change after Job Change: Well in fact nothing will change from your life after the job change, as you might face the same situation in the new office too. When you change the job, you are not changing your own personality. You will remain the same in the new job too, so first you need to check yourself so that you can adopt with the same situation in your life.
Perfect Job for You: Change your job if you think that it is the perfect job made only for you. Also you can make your present job as perfect, for you, so that you need not to search for other options.
So my suggestion for the person who is looking for the career change is that first you try to resolve the problems associated with your present job, if it is resolved then it is better. If not then only try for a job change.

How to Increase Profit and Reduce Cost in Your Business!
Jan 28, 2010 Business
Profit is the major concern of every business, every businessman think about increasing the profit and any how reducing the costs. Practically speaking it is very difficult to implement, but if the business owner will tackle it properly then it can be easily maintained too.
Expanses in a business is actually a must, you need to invest money and time to get a small amount of return. It is an art to increase this return with a very less investment. This will increase your profit.
The most important aspect of a business is its marketing and sales department. Business Company should need to emphasize on these two departments for profit. The marketing team has the responsibility to generate prospects for the company while the sales department has the responsibility to convert those prospects into the clients of the company. Now consider a scenario in which one of the team of your company is working fine, while the other one is taking the situation for granted, in this case the company will never be able to achieve profit.
The main reason behind the failure of a company is the lack of the proper management. Management needs to see lots of stuff to increase the profit. Proper management is required to maintain the marketing and sales department of the company. Top management is always requiring seeing which team is working fine and they also need to know how they are working. This way they can get the clear idea, and then they will need to promote the person who is working well for your company. Along with the same the management needs to become strict to those guys who does not take their responsibilities properly and indirectly promote others too to work in the same manner.
I have seen many a time in my professional life that if the top management of the company ignores these type of people, then the wrong message goes to the people who work with honesty and slowly-slowly they too lose the interest in working with the same attitude with which they were working on. This will further reduce the profit of the company and businesses will ultimate have the loss.
Here are a few tips by applying which the company can increase the profit:
Business need to regularly monitor the expanses. Companies need to analyze every expanse that whether it is genuine or not? As a business you need not to expanse anything which is unnecessary at the moment.
If your company or business is located in different cities then the first thing which you need to do is to judge the performance of all the city offices, so that you can decide which one is required to off. At the time of economic slowdown you need not to spend so much on a division of your company which is regularly running in loss. You can also choose the option of virtual offices for these places.
You need to market some add-on to your clients, like providing discounts, so that your client database can be more motivated to purchase your services or products.
As a business you need to explore and promote the online version of your business, as it is very much required these days. You need to promote your website so that you can get clients directly from web. Only creating a website is not enough for businesses as they need the search engine optimization to get the business. Remember one thing more; a bad SEO is always dangerous to your company and business. I have seen many a times that companies prefer the optimizers who don’t have the proper information about the promotion of a business site and later the business will have to pay the price of the wrong promotion.
The most important aspect of a business is that you need the clear strategies. The mantra for the success of your business is to hold on your existing client database. Along with this, you need to satisfy them too.

Seven reasons why Companies Need Web 2.0!
Jul 9, 2008 Technology
Web 2.0 becomes the need of today as there is emerging a new generation of potential employees and customers that are accustomed to a variety of technologies being available. These employees expect to see and use the technologies in the corporate world.
These technologies are not only interesting for personal use but they also help the corporate world to search better employees for them. Whether and how we deploy these technologies likely will have an impact on our ability to attract new talent to our companies and to find and retain customers. All these technologies fall into the loosely defined category of “Enterprise 2.0.”
Rather than dismissing these technologies right out of the gate, these techniques can be best use in the right way. If neglected, it can lead you to a competitive disadvantage.
Here’s a sampling of these technologies:
1) RSS (Really Simple Syndication): It automatically feeds you information you want. RSS can be used to push order-status information directly to a customer’s company intranet.
2) Social networks: Facebook and MySpace like networks help the employees to introduce themselves to the company. These can also be a resource to help employees find a potential car-pool mate, someone with a background in product design or specific experience on a product you are thinking about launching. It extends your network to a wider zone and can be helpful to reach your target place.
3) Quick Messaging technology, Twitter: A quick messaging technology, such as Twitter, provides a wider reach of the message (a “tweet”) as compared to e-mails. It lets people know what you are doing at an instant. For example, if someone putting out a Twitter message that says, “I’m updating the marketing plan; does anyone have any info on X?” The tweet may have a wider reach and generate a better response rather than sending out an e-mail that gets lost in everyone’s inbox. Twitter and FriendFeed are communication and collaboration tools. And when your research project is done, share it via FriendFeed.
4) Social networking: Social networking technologies such as FriendFeed can be used to share a variety of information. The technology lets users share Web pages, photos, videos and music with friends and family. This is an easy way to exchange the data.
5) Instant messaging: Instant messages are exchanged for quick replies. E-mail is so “last decade.” Instant messengers are available to give a better solution. This technique not only provides a better way of communication but reduces the wastage of space in Inbox on the e-mail server.
6) Wikis, blogs and mash-ups to share, collect and edit information: Wikis and blogs can be used for training and collaboration on large projects while Mashups provide a good overview of the operations. It can bring together production and operations data from a variety of sources, allowing a production manager to get a good overview of the operations.
7) YouTube-style videos: These videos can be used for training or distributing important messages such as the CEO announcing a new product launch or Joe, the IT help desk guy, receiving an award. This technique is providing visual trainings which is much better than textual one.
