Gopinath Munde meets Bal Thackeray again!

After having made the Central Bharatiya Janata Party leadership agree to his demands, BJP leader Gopinath Munde met Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray again late on Thursday night and sought his “blessings”.

Munde has returned to Mumbai from Delhi after meeting the top BJP leaders including LK Advani and Rajnath Singh. After coming back Munde meets Thackray at his residence during which the Shiv Sena leader wished him all success.

Earlier Munde met Thackray three days back before going to Delhi. Thackray supported Munde on the issue of Munde’s resignation. Munde who was not satisfied with party functioning has resigned from all the party posts on Sunday and expressed his displeasure over the appointment of Madhu Chavan as the new president of Mumbai BJP unit. Later after meeting with senior leaders in Delhi he cancelled his resignation where he was assured that his conditions will be taken care.

Thackeray in an editorial in Sena paper Samna had expressed his support for Munde, but also advised him to “look back” before taking any step forward.

After the BJP leadership agreed to concede to Munde’s demands, Thackeray in another editorial on Thursday praised him for making the BJP top brass “buckle” and also for bringing in democracy in the party.

Amitabh takes on Raj Thackeray!

Amitabh Bachchan Big BOnce again Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan broke his silence and reacted strongly against the remarks of Thackerays saying that he will not leave Mumbai city at any cost.

In an interview to the tabloid Mumbai Mirror, Bachchan said, “I am not leaving this city and going anywhere. Let them [the MNS] throw bottles and stones. Let them burn my effigies and bring morchas in front of my house — but I won’t budge.”

In the interview he directly challenged the Maharashtra Navnirman Seva (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray and his supporters. He said that he is not an outsider for Mumbai city. He has been living in Mumbai for last 40 years. He said that he need not to give any kind of explanation to anyone. Whatever they say about him or whatever they do, he will not leave the city.

“I am a public figure, not a public official. I am not a democratically elected representative of the people; neither do I hold any public office. I am answerable only to the three C’s: courts, Constitution and conscience”.

“This land is my land as much as it is for every other citizen of our beloved country. I came to Mumbai in 1968 to pursue a vocation and I did not need a visa to come here.” He added.

This interview came soon after the star was targeted in an editorial of Shiv Sena mouthpiece ‘Samna’ comapring him with Tollywood star Rajnikanth who was supporting the Tamil cause in the Hogenekkal controversial issue despite of the fact that he is a Maharashtrian from Karnataka while Amitabh is not very loyal to Maharashtra.

However soon after the editorial was published, Bala Saheb Thackray the head of Shiv Sena dismissed the words and told Bachchan as superstar of the country.

Bachchan said that Balasaheb is like his father figure.

“Balasaheb has been a father figure to us and shall remain so. In my growing up years, my parents taught me that when elders speak, the young listen quietly. I quietly accept whatever my elder or his outfit has expressed,” He said.

On comparison to Rajnikanth, he said,”I feel honored that I have a friend in Rajnikanth and even more honored that, despite my insignificance, I am brought into comparison with him.”

North Indians are Mumbai’s Life-line: Paswan!

“North Indians are the life line of Mumbai. All milkmen, taxi drivers, green grocers and laborers in Mumbai are from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh” Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan stated today.

He accused Raj Thackeray and Bal Thackeray, the leaders of anti-bihari forces in his statements for causing violence all over the Maharashtra. He said the MNS and Shiv Sena parties are just trying to divide the nation on the basis of religion behind their ugly politics. This is the cheap way they are trying to get political gains only.

He said, “57% of North Indians are toiling for the progress of the state and nation”. The anti-North-Indian campaign would definitely lead no benefit to the city.

“I have already asked the Prime Minister to intervene in the matter. If need arises, the party will again approach him for strict action against Raj Thackeray,” he said.

Definitely people should ignore the anti-social actions of these leaders and this is the only way they can give a clear answer to their cheap intentions of dividing our nation.
