Serial Blasts in Assam!

It is the day of Bhaiya-Duj in India and militants did the serial bomb blast once again in the country. This time it is the turn of Assam. More than 18 blasts are reported so far (till 12:45 PM) in the states of Assam.

There is around 7 bomb blast in Guwahati only. More than 50 people are injured in the incident and number of deaths are still not sure.

Number of blasts may increase with the news are still coming up. Around 7 people dead in Guwahati only. Kokarajhar has around 3 blast and Bongai Gaon has 1 blasts.

More reports are awaited on the news. There are news of blast in Dispur too.

As far as news are coming from the north east India, more than 25 peoples has lost their life in the incident, and around 100 people are injured. These figures might increase with time. No one has claimed the hand behind this, but Ulfa and Huji are considered as the prime suspect. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has called for the Indians to unite against the terror. The time has arrived when world should unite to fight against the terrorism. PM has said that some people are trying to spread the violence in the country.

Number of death as according to news is more than 50 and more than 100 people are injured in the incident till now.

Blast in Assam, 10 injured!

It was reported that at least 10 people were injured in a powerful blast on Friday in the eastern Assam town of Nagaon.

Most of the injured were evening shoppers or vendors. Official sources said that two of victims are critically injures and their condition is told serious.

A police spokesman said the blast took place near a railway station in Nagaon, 130 km from the state’s main city of Guwahati.

“The area was teeming with people close to a market near the railway station when the explosion took place,” the official said.

The police have blamed the outlawed United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) for the blast. Two units of the ULFA have declared unilateral ceasefire, which has been welcomed by the government.

The exact reason behind the explosion is not clear yet. “We are yet to ascertain the nature of the explosion,” official added.

Serial blast plans by SIMI!

The Lok Sabha was informed on Tuesday that banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) and its associates were planning to commit serial blasts and other serious offenses in the country.

Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal told in a written reply that an arrested person disclosed this information. Though there is no specific plans outlined to attack important installations.

NSCN-K: National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Khaplang), which is in a ceasefire agreement with Assam Rifles, has abducted 20 youths from a district in Arunachal Pradesh and kept them in their camps at Myanmar.

Minister of State for Home V Radhika Selvi told that 52 youths of Tirap district were abducted by NSCN-K on three different occasions during January 2008.

“Inputs indicate that out of these, 30 have since been released and two others escaped from the custody. The remaining 20 are still reported to be in their custody and have been kept in their camps in Myanmar,” she said in the reply.

She said assistance of Myanmar government had also been sought in locating the kidnapped youths.
