In a recent judgment a judge from Texas ruled Microsoft banned from selling it’s popular program Word in US. This incident was a surprising decision for many people. The judgment came on Yesterday 11th of June in Texas. The judgment was an outcome of patent lawsuit filed by a company i4i INC, which is actually a Toronto-based company.

The company i4i Inc filed a case against the world’s top IT company Microsoft, and the basis of filing the case was the XML patents, according to which Microsoft was not authorized to sell or import any product which can use XML files. According to the i4i Inc Microsoft Word is capable of opening a .Docx, or .Docm, or a .XML files, which is illegal as per the company’s XML patents.
