Queen and King are at the top 50 most powerful people!

Sonia Gandhi who is considered as the Queen in Indian politics these days and Shahrukh Khan who is popularly known as King Khan are among the list of 50 most powerful people in the world. This list was published in the prestigious US-based magazine ‘Newsweek’.

The newly elected president of US, Mr. Barack Obama is leading the list. He is followed by the Chinese president Mr. Hu Jintao. Other politicians who are ranking at the top are French President Nicolas Sarkozy, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, German Chancellor Angela Markel and Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

Sonia Gandhi is placed at number 17 spot in the list. The magazine writes about her that under her presidency Congress party is becoming more and more powerful in India, though Indian political scene is driven by factions.

“In the world’s largest democracy, she is the queen.” Magazine quotes this for Mrs. Sonia Gandhi.

On the other hand Shahrukh Khan has been placed at the 41st position. He is the only one from Bollywood who is there in the list. The magazine has posted a few superb reviews for the King Khan and appraised his acting and secular image.

The surprise inclusions in the list are the Pakistan army chief Ashfaq Parvez Kayani who is placed at the 20th location while Osama Bin Laden, whom the Newsweek describes as “global terrorist.”
