I am surprised why everybody is only accusing politicians and political parties of corruption and not doing enough. What about the police force? The police force in this country – not just Mumbai – is the most corrupt you can find anywhere in the world! Saale – 10 / 20 rupees ke liye desh ko bech ke aayenge. Have you ever been able to get anything done from the police without paying them on the side? Bloody lazy, paan-gutka chewing, corrupt goons….they are equally responsible. What is their level of awareness of global terrorism? what is their level of commitment to their duty? Here I am not talking about one or 2 straight-forward top-level police officials. I am talking about the regular havaldar / constable on the beat……how much interest do they take in their work? They dont even know how to collect and analyse forensic evidence from a disaster site. They dont know even that they are required to cordon off a troubled zone so that public in their curiosity do not destroy the evidence. Even the area around Taj & Oberoi was cordoned off only after the army arrived.

They have no clue as to how to conduct investigations except catch hold of people and beat them till they confess. These days narco tests have become the latest fashion. Bhai narco-test is supposed to be the last resort….not the first step in investigation.
What about the coast guard? What about the customs department? All are corrupt bastards…..customs and coast guard people only want to take dollars from anyone returning from US and harrassing innocent travellers. How did large quantities of RDX find its way into the country under their nose? I am sure these people were very much aware of this smuggling, but did not take action because somebody paid them a hefty sum.
Ultimately, who is responsible for encouraging this kind of corruption among the police, government officials and politicians? The Indian Public ofcourse – saale patriotic hone ka daava karte hai, but signal todne par mama ne fine lagaaya to 10 / 20 rupees ka laalach deke patate hain. Indian public do not want to be disciplined. You stand in a queue to buy a ticket, or in the passport office, there will enough number of others who will be trying to jump the queue with cash attached to their set of documents.
You go to the rationing office to get a ration card, the half-illiterate lazy rationing officer will demand money from you and you will pay without protest because “apna kaam ho jana mangta hai, kaun magaj maari karega”. So the terrorist also knows he only has to pay off that stupid fellow in the ration office or passport office then he will get a ration card or passport which is solid proof of residence without any supporting documentation.
Saale this Indian junta and public are also as much responsible for all this as the politicians.
