Two days back I was watching the cricket match between India and England on Television, although I prefer to watch the match online only. I was shocked to watch one TV ad of iPill. I asked my friend about that and she told me that the ad was on air from last few months.

In this ad there is a girl which is actually pregnant and she with her senior friend tries to do the abortion. That girl is feeling bad about it and the message on the screen was that a pill can save you from this harassment.

I really become surprised to see the ad. I thought the affect of this ad on our society. I seriously feel that it is not good to show this type of ads so openly. It can deliver the wrong message to the teens.

As we are aware that teen age is the age in which boys and girls can always have a chance to make mistakes, and what I found that this ad is clearly giving a wrong message to them that a small pill can save them from everything.

Even the ads of Condom, which is showing by every TV channel is also delivering the same message to the youth. What I personally feel that don’t advertise these type of products in such a bold manner that the teen can became tension free from making the sexual relationship. Rather the companies should advice them to go to the doctors to consult about these things, so that there should be one type of fear remain in them.

What I think that these types of ads are giving the wrong message to the teenagers and to the society. I am not against the promotion of any product but the way should be informative. Please share your views about all these. We would be happy to hear your voice.

i think ipills are for the mature or basically for the married women, so its obvious that they surely know about the requirement of the product. so i do believe that promotion of the product should be very decent.

i-pill advertisements on television are being regarded as “the most responsible ad” in the MINT Ad Diagnostic report. Teenagers should always be aware of prevalent societal issues. The television is the best way to reach this demographic, and thus the best way to spread the message. Unfortunately, most teenagers don’t realise that a small mistake (having unprotected sex) could have huge repercussions (an unwanted pregnancy) until after it’s too late. i-pill is their second chance.

Very few people are aware that the contraceptive industry is big business and huge amount of money is spent in creating a brand image. There comes a time when society accepts things passively. The truth is: wherever there is more promotion of contraceptive there is more pregnancy and abortion thereby affecting marriage and family life.
