To prevent the further infiltration in India after the recent infiltration bid of Pakistani rangers, the BSF has decided to enhance the force strength by 1,000 and would deploy high tech gadgets also.

The BSF was relaxed about their so called secure fencing but the Pakistani rangers break their illusion. The BSF Director General A K Mitra said “it is a lesson and we have learnt it. … We are enhancing the strength by 1,000 personnel and deploying electronic gadgets which include 22 hand-held thermal imagers.”

He told that some cartridges used by the Rangers have been found and hence the role of Pakistan Rangers’ in recent infiltration bid in this sector “cannot be ruled out” which was however partly successful as two to three people might have infiltrated.

To make the fencing more secure, the fencing along the border at Samba would also be moved 100 meters towards the international border.

Mitra also said two more battalions are being relieved of counter-insurgency operations in Kashmir and they will now be posted in the Jammu region as reserves.

Re-fencing will let 654 acres of land release for farmers which can be used by them for farming and the force will protect them also.
