Uttar Pradesh Bomb Blasts

Three serial bomb blasts in Uttar Pradesh have left the people terror struck. The blasts have claimed several lives and left others injured. The government has expressed deep regret over the tragedy…

Three serial blasts in Varanasi, Lucknow and Faizabad have left the nation terror-struck. Five bomb blasts exploded almost simultaneously in Varanasi, Lucknow and Faizabad killing at least fourteen people and leaving several others injured.

According to reports, nine people have been reported dead from Varanasi while five people have been reported killed from Faizabad. All bombs were planted in and around civil courts and the explosives were packed on parked bicycles in the court compounds.

Steel pellets similar to those used in Hyderabad bomb blasts of August 1 have also been recovered. A group known as Indian Mujahideen has claimed responsibility for the blasts. The group sent an e-mail to a private news channel— India TV, five minutes before the blasts.

The group has also claimed responsibility for the Delhi and Hyderabad bomb blasts but stated that they had nothing to do with the Mecca Masjid bomb blasts, Samjhauta blasts or Malegaon terror strike. They also said that they are purely Indian and not connected to the ISI or the Ladhkar-e-Toiba or Huji.

The mail further stated that the blasts were in retaliation to the injustice done with Muslims in India, the demolition of the Baburi Masjid and the Gujarat riots. Today’s blasts were carried out because the police arrested two innocent people and framed them. When they were produced before the courts in Varanasi, Lucknow and Faizabad the lawyers beat them and refused to take up their case. They also stopped other lawyers from defending them.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Mayawati has expressed deep regret on this tragic event and has announced Rs 2 Lakh as compensation to the families of those who lost their lives and a sum of Rs 50, 000 to the injured.

The bomb blasts are the outcome of a very big conspiracy and the security needs to be tightened. Terrorism has become the root cause of a number of fears and problems. Such terrorist strikes are a big blot on the face of the nation.

75 Years of Test Cricket in India!

India’s remarkable victory against Pakistan in an ODI series has got cricket fans going gaga over the game once again. This was India’s first victory against Pakistan after a gap of 24 years. With this victory India has come to the 4th place in the latest ICC Rankings. India is all set to play the test matches with Pakistan.

Indian Team in 1975

India has a remarkable history of test matches. It was on June 25, 1932 when India played its very first international test match against England under the captaincy of great Col CK Nayudu. Test cricket in India has completed a journey of more than 75 years.

Cricket has overshadowed all other games like Hockey— the national game of India. Even football in India has drifted to the bottom level of popularity. We have not yet produced any gold medal in any individual event in Olympic Games. Money is flowing in the game of cricket and none of the other games is capable of attracting such a large audience.

The past 75 years have seen India produce some talented cricketers like Pali Umrigar, C K Nayudu, Lala Amarnath, Mohinder Amarnath, Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, Bishan Singh Bedi, Sandip Patil, G R Vishwanath, Dilip Vengsarkar, S Venkataraghavan, K Srikkanth, Ajit Wadekar, Nari Contractor, Syed Kirmani, Abbas Ali Baig, Vinoo Mankad, Vijay Hazare, Mohammed Azharuddin, Javagal Srinath, EAS Prasanna, Subash Gupte, Vijay Merchant, Farokh Engineer, Mohd Nissar, Ramakant Desai, Ravi Shastri, Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, Saurav Ganguly, and the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar.

Indian Cricket Team

The popularity of test cricket is decreasing day by day, just because ODIs are getting more popularity. ODIs give certain results and that is also within one day, hence more people are going to watch ODI’s. More money is flowing towards ODI’s as compared to test matches. India has also become the world champion in the very first T20 World Championship that seems to have revived the love for the game among cricket fans in the country.

Test matches are still popular as people cheer the Australia’s defeat after 16 consecutive victories. Senior citizens still remember the tied match between India and Australia. Even we remember the 10 wicket haul of Pakistan by the hands of Anil Kumble. People enjoy the strokes taken by Sachin Tendulkar in any test match.

Saanwariya vs. Om Shanti Om: A Diwali Treat

The release of two Bollywood blockbusters-Saanwariya and Om Shanti Om is being awaited with great anticipation. This year’s Diwali releases will add a brilliant sparkle to the festival of lights…

Saanwariya Team

The nation’s Bollywood fans are in a ditzy debating whether Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saanwariya or Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om is going to top the charts this Diwali. The options are equal for both movies. On the one hand where Saanwariya introduces Neetu and Rishi Kapoor’s son Ranbir Kapoor opposite Bollywood superstar, Anil Kapoor’s daughter, Sonam, Om Shanti Om is likely to cash upon model turned actress Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan.

Shahrukh Khan

After the mega success of Shah Rukh Khan’s Chak De India, people are looking forward to receiving another hit from the Superstar. What’s more his six pack abs have become the talk of the decade!

It is said that Shah Rukh took advice from Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan in order to transform for the movie. But King Khan is not happy with the final outcome. On the contrary, he feels quite shy to reveal his six pack abs and said that he would never have done it if it weren’t for Farah. Shah Rukh Khan is said to have spent at least three hours in the gym everyday.

Om Shanti Om

Ranbir Kapoor is in news for showing off his body on the song ‘Jab se tere naina’ in Saanwariya. It is indeed the first song that has been shot in Bollywood showing off a male waltzing in a towel.

Kiran Sud, Student says, “It is actually funny to see Ranbir dancing to the tunes of a song dressed in a towel. It is usually the women who are shown dancing around in towels.”

Ridhi Chawla, beautician says, “I quite like Ranbir in a towel. It is for the first time that someone has thought of highlighting male sensuality on screen. In fact, his six pack abs have been portrayed in a very soft way. He looks awesome.”

Harsh Kumar, executive says, “I love Deepika Padukone. She has the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen. Om Shanti Om is going to be a mega hit.”

The two movies are not only being released on the same day but are also likely to bring about a revival in the world of fashion.

Aarti Aggarwal, fashion designer says, “I think, with the release of Om Shanti Om, some of the 60s styles will be revived in a big way. Fashions keep repeating themselves and this is the prefect time to make a comeback. After Diwali, most of the people will be preparing for Christmas and New Year. The churidars and frock suits shown in Saanwariya will also make a comeback.”

Another astonishing fact about both the films is that Ranbir’s dad, Rishi Kapoor starred on the song Om Shanti Om’ and a movie with the same name is being released on the same day his son is being launched.

Madhvi Khurana, Media consultant says, “This is pure coincidence, Rishi Kapoor acted in Karz, a movie made on reincarnation and now a movie on similar lines is being released on one of the number’s picturised on him ‘Om Shanti Om’. Ranbir is also making his debut that day.”

The two films have got Bollywood fans going crazy. They are eagerly awaiting the release of the two films and you bet it’s going to be House full on Diwali.
